You Just Can’t Go Wrong With a 2020 Mustang

May 22nd, 2020 by

Despite being a well-known vehicle, Ford’s latest Mustang is still one to talk about. The 2020 Mustang delivers top performance and features a sporty design that helps it stand out against other cars in its class. Read on to learn more about what makes the 2020 Ford Mustang a great muscle car.

Trim Levels and Exterior Design

Though it has a similar fastback body style to older Mustang models, the 2020 Ford Mustang offers a more modern design overall. This muscle car comes in two general trim levels, the EcoBoost Fastback and the GT Fastback. There’s also the Premium Fastback and a convertible option for the regular Fastback model.

Though the EcoBoost and GT trim levels look fairly similar, they have subtle differences. The EcoBoost has a Dual Bright exhaust with rolled polished tips that the GT omits. Though both the EcoBoost and GT have 18-inch by 8-inch machined-face aluminum wheels, the GT’s wheel pockets are high-gloss ebony black, whereas the EcoBoost wheels are low-gloss ebony black. The GT also has a rear diffuser, raised blade decklid spoiler, and LED fog lamps that you can’t get with the EcoBoost trim level. A blade decklid spoiler is an option for the EcoBoost, though.

Interior Space and Style

The cabin offers a comfortable ride for front-seat passengers, however, rear-seat passengers may feel a little cramped for space. The Ford Mustang also has 13.5 cubic feet in the trunk and 11.4 cubic feet in the convertible trim. This is a good amount of trunk space given its vehicle class.

In terms of style, the Mustang has cloth seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It also has four-way manually adjustable front seats, though you can upgrade to six-way power-adjustable front seats. You can also upgrade to leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Engine options and horsepower

The 2020 Ford Mustang comes with two engines: the 2.3-liter and the 5.0-liter. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine comes with the Mustang EcoBoost trim levels. This engine generates 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. You can also add on the high-performance package which increases the horsepower to 330. This package is new for 2020, giving the car a new level of power and performance. The 5.0-liter Ti-VCT engine comes with the GT model. This engine generates 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque with this trim level.

Transmission and performance capabilities

The newest Ford Mustang comes with a six-speed manual transmission. The only difference is the GT model that comes with rev-matching that lets you match the gear you’re driving into the speed you’re driving at. You also have the option of a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission for added power. Whether you choose this setup or the six-speed manual transmission, this muscle car delivers in power.
